Repairing a Fabric Divider Screen

Repairing a tear on a fabric divider screen is much like repairing a paper one. It requires patching the area with another piece of similar fabric, and sealing over the tear. Here’s a how to do it.

  1. First get a hold of a piece of fabric which is as close as possible to the original. Using the original material is the ideal choice, however it can often be difficult to find.
  2. Measure and cut out a piece of the fabric that is large enough to overlap the tear.
  3. Using fabric glue or a multi-purpose translucent glue to attach the fabric patch over the torn area.
  4. If there are patterns in the fabric, try to line up the patch so that the design remains consistent.
  5. Firmly seal the patch onto the screen and allow to dry.

Fabric glue will help to stop any fraying the the tear might have caused, it also won’t show through the fabric when used, making it a good choice for repairing tears and holes on screens.
