There are hundreds, if not thousands of plant and flower choices which can make picking the right ones for your garden an overwhelming task for inexperienced gardeners.
A good place to start is to match plants with your current garden conditions. Things you will need to consider;
Is the area your planting sunny or shaded? sheltered or exposed?
What type of soil do you have? Chalky or sandy? Or in between? (if you are unsure, you can purchase a soil testing kit)
Once you have figured these out you can match the plants to your conditions. By doing this it will make your gardening experience a lot easier. Attempting to grow plants in unsuitable conditions will be a difficult task.
You will also need to consider the specimen of each plant – we advise you aim for a strong healthy option.
Size matters – make sure you check the growth size of each plant. You will need to give each one adequate growing room. This will also ensure you don’t choose plants too big for your area.
